The Perfect Woman--Part II--From Proverbs 31

1. ２３夫は人々に信頼される町の指導者の一人です。Proverbs 31:23

This woman’s husband was respected by the city elders.
Today, this could be a woman who has taken good care of her family so her husband can focus on his work and have time to help other people.

2.２４彼女はまた、リンネルでベルトつきの服を作り、商人に売ります。 Proverbs 31:24

She sells clothes and sashes.
Today, this could be a woman who owns a business or a woman who works at a business.

3.２５上品で何事にもしっかりしている彼女には、老後の心配など少しもありません。Proverbs 31:25

She is strong and dignified. She’s not afraid of the future.
Today, this could be a woman who has taken good care of herself and her family. She’s not worried about the future because she knows her family is strong and she trusts in God.

4.２６決してばかなことは言わず、いつも人を思いやります。
Proverbs 31:26

She speaks with wisdom and teaches others.
Today, this could be a woman who teaches a class or a woman who people ask for advice. It could also be a woman who teaches others by the way she lives. Other people want to be like her.

5. ２７家のことに何から何まで気を配り、かた時も怠けません。 Proverbs 31:27

She takes care of her home. She is not idle.
Today, this could be a woman who takes care of her house and stays busy with charity work or other activities.

Her husband and her children praise her. She’s been good to them!

7. ２９「君はほんとうにすばらしいね。 世界中さがしても、君ほどの女はいないよ。」

She is above all others in the way she lives and takes care of her family. She’s an example to many people.

8. ３０ 人は見かけの美しさにすぐだまされますが、そんな美しさは長続きしません。 しかし神様を恐れる女は、ほめたたえられます。Proverbs 31:30

Anyone can talk nice and look nice, but a woman who “fears the Lord” should be praised.

“Fear of the Lord” means that you understand that God is God and you are only a person He created. It means you have respect for God and His Word.

9.３１「りっぱな女だ」と評判になり、ついには、国の指導者にまでほめられるようになります。 Proverbs 31:31

It’s good to find a wife. Wives are a gift from the Lord.

15.１３言いつけに背く子はやっかい者、文句ばかり言う妻は、したたり続ける雨もりのように我慢がなりません。 Proverbs 19:13

A quarrelsome wife is like a constant dripping.

16.１４父親が残せるのは家と財産、神様の贈り物はりこうな妻です。 Proverbs 19:14

Wealth is inherited from your parents, but a prudent (wise) wife is a gift from the Lord.

17.９気むずかし屋の女とりっぱな家に住むより、屋根裏部屋のすみっこで暮らすほうがましです。 Proverbs 21:9

It’s better to live on the corner of the roof than to share a house with a quarrelsome wife.
