What Does The Bible Say About Fools?

A. Proverbs teaches about 3 types of problem people: the simple, mockers, and fools.

B. The simple are people who live without much thought and are too lazy to change.

C. Mockers are people who rebel against God and are proud of their rebellion.

D. Fools are people who have made the choice to live without God and without advice from other people.

E. In modern English, fools are people who lack brains, but the Bible has a different meaning for the word “fool”. In the Bible, a fool may have a high I. Q. and be successful. Yet, they are foolish in God’s eyes. The Bible says one of worst insults you can give someone is to call them a “fool”.

２２しかし、わたしはさらにこうつけ加えましょう。人に腹を立てるなら、たとい相手が自分の家族であっても、裁判にかけられます。友達をばか呼ばわりするなら裁判所に引っぱり出されます。 友達をのろったりするなら、地獄の火に投げ込まれます。 Matthew 5:22

F. A fool may think he is very clever, but his cleverness will eventually land him in trouble. If you are a fool, no set of rules can keep you out of trouble because in the end, you will go your own foolish way. A wise person should learn how to recognize a fool and then stay out of the fool’s path.

So, how does a person become a fool?

1. A person becomes a fool by ignoring God’s wisdom and trusting in their own.

では、どうしたら物事がよくわかるようになるでしょう。それには、まず神様を信じ、神様を大切にすることです。 Proverbs 1:7

(“Fear of the Lord” means a loving reverence for God and His power.)

神様の教えを守らない者は罪を犯し、神様を恐れる人は人を思いやります。 Proverbs 14:9

自分に頼るのはばかですが、神様の知恵に頼れば安全です。Proverbs 28:26

2. A person becomes a fool by trusting in their own opinions or in folly (worthless things).

ばか者は忠告を無視し、知恵ある人は人のことばに耳を傾けます。 Proverbs 12:15

知恵のある人は先を見越し、ばか者は自分をごまかして事実を直視しません。 Proverbs 14:8
(A fool thinks his way is right, but he is deceiving himself.)

知恵のある人は知恵をほめられ、ばか者はばかさかげんを軽べつされます。 Proverbs 14:24

ばかなことをしていい気になっている者に会うより、子を取られた雌熊に会うほうがよほど安全です。 Proverbs 17:12

神様の教えに背く者はただ大声でわめきたいだけで、事実など、どうでもいいのです。 Proverbs 18:2

3. A person becomes a fool by hating knowledge or correction of any kind.

知恵のある人は喜んで人から教わり、ばか者は知ったかぶりをして失敗します。 Proverbs 10:8

知恵のある人はことば数が少なく、ばか者は知っていることを洗いざらいしゃべりまくります。おかげで、余計な心配事をかかえ込むのです。 Proverbs 10:14

知恵のある人は熱心に真理を求め、人をばかにする者はつまらないことに熱を上げます。 Proverbs 15:14

4. A person becomes a fool by being quick to quarrel.

ばか者は何かというとけんかをします。彼の口は破滅のもとで、いつも危ない橋を渡ります。Proverbs 18:6-7

争いを避けるのは名誉なことです。 けんか好きなのはばか者だけです。 Proverbs 20:3

5. A person becomes a fool by not using self-control.

ひそかに人を憎むのはうそつき、あからさまに中傷するのはばか者です。 Proverbs 10:18

ばか者はすぐかっとなり、知恵ある人は侮辱されても冷静です。 Proverbs 12:16

知恵のある人は知っていることでも黙っていますが、ばか者はばかさかげんを丸出しにします。Proverbs 12:23

りこうな人は用心深く危険を避け、ばか者は自信満々つき進みます。 Proverbs 14:16

ばか者と言い争っても、相手はかっとなり、感情をむき出しにして、こちらをばかにするだけです。
Proverbs 29:9

反対ばかりする者は頭にくるとすぐどなり、知恵のある人はじっと我慢します。 Proverbs 29:11

6. A person becomes a fool by resisting change or self-improvement.

私をきらうとは、全くばかな人たちだ。一歩一歩死に近づいているのも知らずに、いい気になっている。 Proverbs 1:32

物わかりのいい人は一度しかれば十分です。それだけで、聞き分けのない者の背を百ぺんむち打つより効き目があります。 Proverbs 17:10

法律をばかにして守らない者は、きびしく罰せられます。 Proverbs 19:29

ろばはくつわで、馬や反対ばかりする者にはむちで、言うことを聞かせます。 Proverbs 26:3

犬が自分の吐いた物をまた食べるように、ばか者は何度でもばかなことをします。 Proverbs 26:11

神様の教えに背くばか者につける薬はありません。 Proverbs 27:22
