important holidays for Christians.
(Easter is the other one.)
Christians remember the birth of Jesus Christ, the Savior, on Christmas.

All over the world, many
people celebrate Christmas by giving gifts to family and friends. There isn’t anything wrong with this custom,
but most people forget that “Jesus is the reason for the season”.
世界中で、多くの人々は家族や友達にプレゼントを渡すことでクリスマスをお祝いしています。この習慣は別に間違った事ではありませんが、大抵の人々は「イエスがこの時期の（お祝いする）理由」である事を忘れてしまっています。

symbols and their meanings.
クリスマスのシンボルとその意味を見てみましょう。
1. Christmas trees and wreaths—These are made
out of evergreen trees and branches. Evergreen
trees are different from other trees.
They stay green all year long.
They symbolize the gift of eternal life that is received when a person
accepts Jesus Christ’s gift of salvation.
クリスマスツリーとリース－これらは常緑樹の木と枝から作られています。常緑樹は他の木々とは違い、一年中緑のままです。これは、人がイエス・キリストの救いの贈り物を受け入れた時に受け取る永遠の命の贈り物を象徴しています。4

2. Christmas lights—These are a reminder that
Jesus is the light of the world.
クリスマスのライト－これはイエスが世界の光であることの象徴です。

3. Christmas stars—These are a reminder of the
star that led the Magi, or wise men, to Jesus.
クリスマスの星－これは、東方の3人の博士達をイエスの元へと導いた星の象徴です。
１イエスはヘロデ王の時代に、ユダヤのベツレヘムの町でお生まれになりました。そのころ、天文学者たちが、東の国からはるばるエルサレムへやって来て、こう尋ねました。２「このたびお生まれになったユダヤ人の王様は、どこにおられますか。私たちは、その方の星をはるか東の国で見たので、その方を拝むために参ったのです。」

4. Angels—These remind us that angels told Mary,
Joseph, and the shepherds that Jesus is the Savior of the world.

5. Gifts—Jesus is God’s gift to mankind. God sent His Son, Jesus, to pay for the sins
of every person.
贈り物－イエスが、神が人間に与えた贈り物です。神はその息子イエスを全ての人の罪の購いの為に送られました。

Also, the wise men brought
gifts to Jesus.
